As NY Daily News points out, Katie is just coming into her own and wants to revive her career. One of the most important new facts today, is that Tom Cruise has just been named the highest paid actor in Hollywood, according to the Forbes report.
It has been clear that Katie wants to jump start her career and Tom is accused of holding her back. Is this just a case of Katie wanting to expand her career or is she really just another young woman that realizes that divorcing now will maximize the child support? It is pretty standard to be awarded a percentage of the income for child support. Sharing custody would cut the support - and we know that when it comes to daughter Suri (6) the sky is the limit on spending. In New York the percentage is 17% of all income - since Katie Holmes has made very little in comparison to Tom the majority of the child support will come from Tom if he is denied joint or sole custody.
